About Us
Z. Wang, PhD
President, Cultural Ambassador Tours
Cultural Ambassador Tours are directed by Z. Wang, PhD. People
who know him speak of him as a “bridge scholar” because
of his strengths in fostering communication and dialogue between
people of China and the United States. Born in Beijing, Wang
is a citizen of China and deeply nurtured by Chinese culture.
Yet, from many years of experience, he has also been moved
by the many friendships he has among Americans, and also by
the support he has received in acquiring a PhD from an American
university. His business - Cultural Ambassador Tours -- emerges
out of much experience in “bridging the gap” between
Chinese and American culture and people.
Dr. Wang, who is a former member of Chinese Academy of Social
Sciences, received his master degree in Western Philosophy
from Peking University, China and then his PhD degree in Religion
from Claremont Graduate University, USA. He has a background
in philosophy and interdisciplinary studies. He has published
numerous books and articles, and he has connections with many
scholars and educators throughout China, with whom he works
closely on a regular basis.
Since 2000 Dr. Wang helped arranged 80 lectures by Americans
in China and organized 15 international conferences on topics
including education, philosophy, management, sustainable development,
land use, social justice, and the dialogue between science
and religion. He has also established 17 research institutes
affiliated with 15 Chinese universities cross China. He has
also organized 20 Cultural Ambassador Tours, which are tours
enabling Americans to visit China, make friends with Chinese,
share their experiences in formal and informal settings.
Our Philosophy
Cultural Ambassador Tours are premised on the idea that all
human beings share a common humanity, even as they enjoy their
unique cultural differences, and that through the development
of friendships across cultures, the world can become more peaceful
and harmonious. Wang and those who work with him believe that
each human being possesses a distinctive kind of beauty and
value, and that when people come together, engage in dialogue
with one another, and become friends, the beauty of each is
enriched by the relationship itself. In the process, the newly
made friends learn from each other, gain new ideas, and help
create a climate of mutual appreciation and trust. Cultural
Ambassador Tours are aimed at helping create the climate among
Chinese and Americans. It is Wang’s hope that this climate
can be created in many parts of the world. There can be no
peace in the world unless there is peace between cultures,
and there can be no peace between cultures unless there are
friendships between people of different cultures. Cultural
Ambassador Tours help create such friendships between Chinese
and Americans: this is their purpose. |
